low budget 1979 Camaro project
Here are a few pics of the Camaro that I just picked up last weekend. So far I ordered new seat covers for it, and picked up a set of 5-spoke Z28 wheels that I plan to paint dull charcoal gray. Car has as a Z28 hood. 305 was replaced with a 350, but never completed. Some parts are missing, and I need to collect them first. Good thing there is an automotive flea market at the local drag strip this weekend ....

Looks like a good solid car. From the voice of experience (and my wife)..there is no such thing as a low budget Camaro project. What starts out as a minor refurbish takes a life of its own and keeps growing. But, that's the fun of it. Keep us posted with pics.

Maybe I should clarify what I meant by Low Budget ... I mean that I HAVE NO MONEY .... LOL !!
I figure if I can stay away from any body work, I might be OK. I do not know how to do body work, so I would have to pay someone.
It does have a few rough spots, but it is a 30 year old car that spent it's life in the Northeast .... so I consider it Good condition.

As long as you drive it ,it doesnt matter how much money it absorbs in the long run. Why? cause you dont have to make payments! Just buy and install. Dont buy -shelf- plan on installing later ......

I have everything ready to put on the front of the motor .... except for the power steering pump brackets. Haynes manual doesn't show poop... and I can not get the search function to work on this site today ... so I have no idea what I am looking for to get the pump mounted.

Most of the aftermarket places like NPD, Classic, YearOne etc should have the brackets you need. Or you can go with the Alan Grove brackets. A few people on here have them. Nice looking setup.

Again, I always exhaust my own resources before posting here ... checked all the normal places ... Classic, Year One, Ecklers .... but still Nothing ...
By the way, Year One has the worst search function on the internet (for Camaro parts) that I have ever seen.

I know how you feel. If I want to do anything to my car I have to save scrap metals at work for a month or two so I can get alittle extra. Good Luck!
