Round 2: 1970 Olds 442 clone gets 6.0L & 6 speed transmission
So it begins. Rocket 350 / TH350 gone.
2008 GMC Sierra LY6 6.0L 39K going in with a T-56 6 speed double overdrive manual behind it.
The stock GM heads flow 320cfm and a simple cam upgrade with springs nets 500hp and daily driver manners.
Rear end was already upgraded to a 3.73 posi for the .50 final gear ratio to spin just 1500rpm @ 65mph.
Motor just arrived today, now I gotta tear it apart and scrup it down, and paint it.
New LS3 Intake manifold with injectors, rail, and bolts bought from SLP performance.

Yeah my garage is a clusterfook right now.
Harley, hood, 200-4R rebuild going on still with a 9 foot table.
Then I had to squeeze in this motor with a lift truck.
My Hayabusa still hasn't made it home from winter storage yet....
Cody, it was delivered via a semi trailer with a lift gate and a lift truck wheeled it in.

I'm not sure what you mean ?? Pull what pan ??
The Vortec oil pan is of no use to me, I already have an F-body pan waiting in my attic.

I hope it goes well for you. I would think the second time around should be easier, plus more stuff available now than there were a few years ago. What cam are you planning on using?

Speed Inc right next door to me sells this setup.
S15 Cam 231/237 $359
PAC1518 springs $230
7.400 pushrods $89
They say they got 470RWHP out of a LY6 with the L92 heads with this.
However they don't say how rompy it is, so I'm going to stick with the
setup in the Chevelle because I know it's drivable and reliable with 430RWHP
For this year though, I think I'm just going to get the drivetrain in stock
and get it going. Next year I will mod the engine.

That sounds like a good plan. That way you can work out everything else, and it will run without messing with the tune at first. That amounts to "saving some of the fun for later" when you put in the bigger cam, etc.

All degreased, rust wire wheeled off, repainted graphite, and prepped.
Now I just gotta do the front accessories prep n paint and bolt them back on.
Then she goes in.
