Well I got 'er done. I laid on the basecoats first. Then my brother came over and we laid the hood in place and lined it all up. Then I transferred the stripes (already laid out on the hood) onto the header. Then we put the hood back on its sawhorses and painted all the stripes. Turned out very well.
I lay mine by the manual and use 1/4" fine line tape. It does not like the curves but you can get it with patience. I use the radius of a penny on the curves which is very hard to do.
