Im going to at least bolt them on just to see what they look like on the motor. Part of the fun of all this is just trying different things.

maybe you can get the color off the covers and in red paint where it says chevrolet so thats bold and sticks out on the chrome. kinda like these ones..... http://www.shopfbparts.com/catalog/141-813-Kit.jpg

I know the covers were not liked by everyone, but i threw them on anyway...i think they look Ok now that they are on. I have moved on to other problem areas so they are staying like this for now anyway lol. here are some pics of it.

They definitely look neat, haven't seen that style done to the covers in a long time. Another idea, woulda taken a bit of patience, would be to primer the entire cover, mask off the letters and bowtie surround(pretty much everything that's raised), paint covers black, then paint letters and bowtie surround the orange. or vice versa, covers orange, then letters & bowtie black.
