Somewhat comming together.

Interior is somewhat comming together. Its been pretty hot here lately so I dont like to go in the garage since it feels like you just stuck your hand in a oven thats preheated to 400*.

Got the carpet and the driverside seat back in and the doors finally put together. I put the rear seat back in just to see how far back I needed to go with the carpet, the front section seems pretty long I got it as far up the firewall as I think it can go.

I have to something to chase the threads for the seatbelt bolts in the rockers. before I can bolt down the morris retractors.

I will be changing the steering before I start driving it, then I'll tackle the driver/pass side kick panels at a later date I already got the SEM paint for it.

Thanks for all the help for those that have helped answer my questions when the come up.

WOOT!!! That's why you should do your restorations in the moderate Cali winter temps.

Looks good man, keep it up. When you SEM paint anything, I'd suggest using the SEM clear over it to protect it.

yeah I did the rear quarter plastic in the pic with it. I used the cleaner, then the sand free primer, landau black then topped it off with low luster clear.

should be hopefully cooling off soon. yestarday was pretty hot like 103* so I just stayed in the confines of my air conditioned bedroom.

yeah I was actually surprised how good it looked because I generally suck when it comes to painting. I actually painted some of the lower door panel plastics which were the later 70's version, but ended up buying the 70-71 ones.

I really can't wait to sit inside with the radio (when I get one) on and the engine running to see if this all this dynamat I installed paid off. Retail cost wise I got probably close to 1K in dynamat installed. I covered the entire floor board from the toe board all the way to the rear deck, the rear quarter area and sail panels, put some on the inside of the door shell and then the on the door iteself behind the door panel, roof then finally the some in the trunk (still need to finish in there but 85% of theh trunk is covered).

Got the other seat, hammer shifter, and morris belts in today. Picked up a tap set from harbor freight had to clean out the seatbelt anchor threads. Gotta clean the rear seat cusions, they will have to be mismatch for now til I can front and back recovered to match.

Not sure about the shifter anymore though. I kinda want a center console, but when I got the car it didnt have any tabs on the trans tunnel for mounting a console, but I dont really like the horseshoe shifter either.

Tomorrow I may tacklet trying to get the dash panel secured all the way.

Maybe a little late but to cut a hole in carpet where a bolt goes through: small diameter hole saw, get rid of drill bit in middle and put in 1/4" steel rod with end of it rounded over...spin it backwards. Nice clean hole. Was on video I got with my carpet, 'cept there's didn't say anything about replacing drill bit with rod, but it worked better that way. Just got the Morris belts in mine, very nice, but they should be for the price.

Thanks bought them a couple years ago from a GM Salvage yard out in San Jose, they primarly deal with F-Bodies and Corvettes (gmsports.com). I got the rear seats from a Salvage yard in Manteca from a '74 Camaro. I have my seats that came in the 71 when I bought it but they are basically just a rusty frame with cloth over them. I'll get them recovered later on.

They are out of a '97 Camaro.

Pick 'n Pull, Might have been Stockton, I think I just seen a Manteca sign while I was there and that just popped in to my head when I posted. You don't find too many 2nd gens at the regular salvage yards anymore.

I've been to pick'n pull in Richmond, Fairfield and Stockton. And have only gotten anything from the Stockton one.
