Thank you guys.
Just ordered headers, mufflers and dual exhaust kit from Jegs. Hopefully its here by the weekend I changed my mind on muffler placement for now. I wanted to put them under the trunk but didnt really want to have to fab the system up at this time. Trying to save a little money so just went with a dual kit and dynomax super turbos for under the rear seat in the normal location. I can change it later if Im not happy.

I have a sneaky feeling, you are going to like the Super turbos. Did you go with the Jegs pre-bent kit?

Yeah its the jegs dual kit without mufflers. I went with 2 1/2 instead of 3 though. After talking to a couple people 2 1/2 should be fine for me. I wont be running high rpms and want it kinda on the quiter side. At least at idle and cruise. I wanted the true dual sound though so didnt go xpipe. I can always add that later or an H.
I really liked the sound of your system Tater. Was one of the deciding factors on the Dynomax super turbos. I like the deep rumble not a cackle.

My system was bent perfectly and a sinch to put in. I did have to cut the intermediate pipes (about 2 inches on right side and 4 inches on left). This was simply to get the mufflers to line up evenly in the space under the back seat. No H or X pipe for me either.
Note: the header pipes are different length and the longer of the two is meant for the driver side. This is in the directions as well in case you forget.
The directions do have pictures for the tailpipe hangers but they aren't very good. I did not use the supplied front tailpipe hanger and just used the existing one mounted to the seat back. The rear tailpipe hanger is a nice piece to work with and you can basically put it wherever you want. I mounted mine to the rear frame rail at about the 11 O'clock(paasenger) and 1 O'clock (Driver) positions looking at the wheel.
I found that putting the rear tilpipe hanger in place and loosely mounting the tailpies first, made fitting the system a lot easier. I welded the connections from the header pipe to the intermediate pipe and the intermediate pipe to the muffler and just used the supplied clamps from muffler to tailpipes. I decided to use the clamp on the tailpipe to make future removals easier.
A good set of jackstands should get you the room you need to wrangle the tailpipes in place. I lifted the rear of my car to the extent of my 3Ton floor jack and slipped in the jackstands. This gave me plenty of room.
Good luck with the install, and hopefully some of my ramblings will save you a bit of time and headache.

I've had that kit from jegs before. Mufflers do sound good.

So what does adding an X of H pipe do to 1) sound and 2) performance?

Tater: I still have the whole car on stands from the trans install. No existing hangers. I may use the ones they send I may not. Thanks for the tips. your pics in your thread will help too. I shouldnt have any fitment issues with the 2 1/2.
Brooksman: I got the jegs kit without mufflers and got some Dynomax super turbos instead.
76 TypeLt: X will give it a different sound, you can go to youtube and listen to alot of systems. It equalizes the pulses and supposedly shows hp/tq increases throughout the rpm range. Little more at higher rpms. At least thats my take on it. For a street car its all personal preference really.

I didn't go with the X or H connection either. I prefer the individual note of a true dual system without the interconnection. I couldn't hear Tater's, as it didn't come thru loud enough on my computer speakers. Would have liked to hear it better, but even with full volume it was too quiet on my speakers.

Cant take credit for making the plastic bottle... Rest is all me. Thanks Drill 2 holes, put grommets in, push hose through. Cut some stainless. Run it through our roller till its small enough circle. Drill hole in it and done.

Pure genius! And think, I spent $14 for a replacement from NPD.
They don't even carry the radiator overflow, dirty B$^%#)ds! I may have to steal your idea.
