Well, when you are done it will be a solid car. I envy you for diving in deep and getting all the problems worked out. Look out for me at the Turkey Run. I'll be the only beige 79 Z there.

I agree with David

Started today on the passenger side. Here is the old rail removed. It wasn't too bad but I figured I'd rather replace the whole piece instead of trying to peace it together...
I'll have to do some patchwork on that rocker area...
Awaiting the replacement...
Hopefully I'll get the replacement in place in a couple days.

Thanks Guy. I have a doner pan that I am going to use...just like I did on the other side. This pan is not as good as the other so I will try to leave more original floor. Actually, I have already removed most of what I plan on removing. What are your thoughts on grinding down the welds? Do you feel it weakens the weld at all?

Sounds good.
As long as ya grind flat and not grind into the weld it should not weaken it. If your read my project thread, I grind all my welds flat, well the ones I can get at anyway. lol

so back to the frame straightening. a few questions as for some reasons, both of my bowties have been hit in the past.
did you use the bfh with the subframe attached to the car?
did you use the jack stand as a brace?
did you hit the frame directly or did you use something to disburse the force? etc

BFH with a jackstand supporting the corner that I did not want to move. Yes the subframe was still on the car. I hit directly on the frame. Good luck.

I'm trying to teach her the "way". Today when I was dropping her off at school there was a late 60's Mustang pulling out. I told her "those are our arch enemies!" She said she can't wait to "burn rubber". That's my girl!!

Todays contribution
Got most of the passenger side done today. My donor panel had some rust issues so the missing metal you see will have to be fabbed. Anyway, it rained here today so I spent the whole day on the car...

After...
