power steering pump is on .... once I figured out what bracket to use .... cut it off, and used the spacer because of the headers .... I was good to go.
Newly rebuilt carb did not fix my drivability issues.
The guy who rebuilt the carb thinks I may have timing issues.
So he has the car right now.
I am hoping to get it back in a condition to make the 4 hour drive to the shore in 10 days.

I don't have $1700 laying around, and have no way to put it in .....
it is an old motor, who knows how many miles on it.
not the original.
pulls OK oil pressure.
Did not compression test all the cylinders.
Has valve tapping noise, and a lot of blow-by.
Also has no power ... which in my mind could actually be the transmission, or maybe the cam ?
used motor and trans was put into the car, and never run before I got it.
I am 99.9% sure it is a 1979 305 motor.
I thought I could "get by" with it .... but I guess not.

It could just need a valve job. You never know. I would just start watching Craigslist, people selling motors all the time, find one that is running. You could even get one out of a vehicle you can hear first. Maybe even go another 305 for cheapness.
