Stylo 69 Camaro Progress pictures by Elpres
hey guys, i need your opinion and thoughts about this.
I have a good offer at hand, regarding a 68 camaro, it has been used as a stunt car, and have been used to some (not many) jumps from ramps. Im concerned about the subframe and whether its straight.
How can I dertermine wheter its ok, what should I be looking at? what kind of damage would jumping from ramps give a camaro?
let me know ASAP what u think?

I will chime in since nobody else has: I am not any kinda expert, but I would insist on taking the car to a shop with at least an alignment machine before I payed anything for it. I know of no way to check for anything but gross physical damage (obvious bends and dents) by just looking at it in a parking lot.

I'd look over the whole body pan to see if it has been pushed out of shape. Impacts can force the mounting points for the sub-frame and the rear suspension up and out of position. Look to see if the sub-frame is cracked (like where the front mounting point flange is welded on, for example, or anywhere else that could have acted like a lever). Also check sub-frame seams and welds as well as the squareness of the box section. Some of that is repairable (I had to do it on my '67 Firebird) Check to see if the tires were forced into the body. Look for cracks where the 1/4 panel meets the roof line and body seam just above the trunk below the rear glass.
There are other sites that can offer more input on 1st gens :
the CRG
Team Camaro
Sub-frames are available in the US but I'm guessing that Denmark won't have a bunch "rolling" around. I have two here if you need - but it would be a long way to ship . Photos of the car? Price? I'd be curious and it would help in evaluation.

rwild1967 is right - nearly impossible to measure for squareness when it is all put together and on the ground.
Price has to be a big factor in this - even if it is damaged it might be worth it for the right car. Can you provide any details? RS? V-8? 10 or 12 bolt? etc

your answer here
A good collision/body shop can put this on a laser unibody/frame rack for measuring as well. These are like alignment racks to check for or straighten a cars body. However a good visual inspection is your best bet. Does it have good body lines and gaps? Does it have frt and rear glass, or did they install plastic? (if so will glass fit anymore?)

I'm dying to know what you found - so definitely report back
Check this link: http://www.camaros.org/geninfo.shtml#Where. It addresses, in brief, export cars. It may help you in identifying the car at which you're looking.

Look closely at how the fenders, doors and hood fit with each other.

'69s are better investments as they fetch more money than '68 or even '67. Pay attention to the Trim Tag - if a Norwood built car (who knows when it was brought to Europe and by whom) it may have an "X" code ( http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#XnnCodes) - depending upon it's build date.

Cool for you
Doesn't look too beat up - but then the pictures aren't a good way to judge.
So, details please ...Trim Tag info, equipment, interior shots and price (if you don't mind sharing).
I have some spare parts so start a list and maybe I can we can work something out. I can also refer you to a couple of good places to buy repro parts (and some original).
