70 Z/28 DSE Full Monte Build
I've been holding off on posting a build thread until DSE posted this in their project area of their website. After running cars that were to pretty and not well suited at auto-x and track events the last 2 years I decided to build one that is capable of performing well. The updates will be sporadic until I get the car back from DSE to finish up what I plan on doing myself. DSE will do the suspension install, the chrome moly cage, the exhaust, and the heavy metal fab work. I will handle the plumbing, wiring, and interior. The car is getting the DSE test car suspension package, LS7 w/dry sump, Rockland transzilla T-56 magnum w/ ZR1 gearing, full floater 9 inch w/ a wave-trac posi, Baer 6R 14" brakes, Anvil Auto carbon fiber body panels, and 3 piece Formula 43 wheels. This car will basically be a lightweight version of DSE's 70 test car.
Here's a link to the project section on DSE's website.

Watching DSE build a car reminds me of how I felt when I heard Eddie Van Halen play guitar for the first time. The bar was suddenly set so high I almost stopped playing guitar.... dang I like their metal work. Looking forward to seeing the build.

Yeah I know, I've spent some time there watching them fab parts and it still amazes me how they do it, suprisingly they don't really use a lot of fancy tools.

How are they making the really cool stamped sheet metal parts? Like the floor pans? Some sort of wood die and a press or hydroform of some sort?

I'm not sure about how they did those, but if you look at the pics where they fixed the corner of my dash they hand formed those pieces with a hammer.

All the ingredients of the car I'd like to build when my widget makes me rich!
(Except, of course, I don't have a widget.)
Sounds awesome. Good Luck.

Definitely going to keep an eye on this build. Great shopping list of top shelf performance parts.
Please tell me you won't be covering up ALL of those gorgeous Anvil carbon fiber pieces and parts with paint!!!

I'm not covering it with paint but I plan on doing a vinyl wrap because the blue that's on the car now is way to loud for me and Anvil didn't have all the parts I needed in stock as all satin or all gloss it's a mix of both and I couldn't wait for them to get everything in stock.

The wrap will definitely be trendsetting, they are becoming more popular. But shooting the satin parts gloss or gloss parts satin is not an option for you, I gather?
I went to DSE's site and checked out the work there, pretty amazing fab work in all the right places!!

I don't want to screw with paint it's always a pita tkes longer than expected and costs way too much, my logic with the wrap is when I beat/bang up the car, it will be easier to deal with than paint. 3M has got some incredible satin wraps just hitting the market that are really tough to tell it's not paint.
Here's a link to a BMW they had in the Wraptivo booth last year with the wrap installed, the top 2 pics
