Weight reduction, this dash only weighs 4 lbs, we also made it easy to remove so you'll be able to sevice the car easier.

Matt I don't really have a number, if I could get it to 3,000 lbs I'd be happy. We've removed a lot of weight but have also added weight back with safety equipment and the necessary coolers ( trans, rearend, and power steering ) and the 1 creature comfort I sacrificed weight on a/c.

Hey Tim, how is the all around fit of the VFN dash? I have been looking at those ever since I first saw one in Brian Hobaugh's Camaro? Side to side? Front edge where it meets the metal Cowl? I love the one piece idea of it

DSE installed it so I honestly don't know, but they did have to do some work to it because I got a bill for fitting it LOL. I can ask how much fitting it took and let you know.

......and Tim, I had no idea that YOU were the owner of that Placer Gold '71. That is without a doubt one of the most beautiful 2nd Gen's I have ever seen. Everytime I look at the stance of that car, I get pissed because I'd love to get mine that way!! LOL

ahhhhhhh, that old thing??
I've been watching the DSE site for your build. That one off trans crossmember is pretty damn slick, along with that stiffing rib running the width of the car. That was an idea that idea I had in my head a long time ago, after spending a month and a half under the car restoring the undercarriage.

They did a nice job on the crossmember, I told Kyle that I wanted this car easy to service so everything they've fabricated has had this in mind, that's why the firewall was recessed as well, because the LS7 intake is up against the firewall and I wanted room to work back there.
