They make a patch kit for the subframes that you cut out and weld a new piece in. Shouldnt be a tough fix. Keep it up.

Nice work. The hole in the subframe is very common. There is plenty of info here to get you through it and the rest of your build.

I have been researching the 5.3 and sounds like the truck accesories(p/s pump, alt, ac, etc) will not clear the frame and hood. Have you looked into this?

My engine came accessory free, looking at the way it sits, I would say they won't fit.

The Speedway accessory kit will also not fit. Tried that, sent it back.

You'll need a F-body oil pain, F-body exhaust manifolds and to either covert to F-body accessories or make your own mounting brackets.

I'll be making brackets of some kind as an F-body accessory conversion is +$1,000 by the time you get done replacing the waterpump, crank pulley, idler, ect.

Yeah, I found the kits, ~$50. Beyond my fab skill. I called a local shop, they said $80 - $200 depending how bad and how long. Not to bad I guess.

Over all an unfortunate set back but if your going to do anything, might as well do it right.
