So i was replacing my gauge cluster the other day and when i removed the headlight switch i noticed the black ground wasnt connected, so when i put it all back together i connected the ground and now the all of the courtesy lights stay on consistanly, even when the doors are all shut. I was able to reach under the dash and disconnect the ground without removing everything again but is this going to cause a problem with the ground being disconected? Does anyone know why this would happen when the ground is connected? Everything seems to work fine with it disconnected now.

Is the light switch turned all the way to the left which would turn all the courtesy lights on when the ground is attached?

Originally yes, but once i saw that they stayed on i went back into the car and played with the knob trying to find a setting where they would turn off but no luck
