Has anyone had any experience mounting a oer new dash in a 70-74 camaro? I have the passenger side brackets hooked up and when I go to the drivers side it doesnt seem to fit correctly.
    any ideas

OER Dash has a stud on drivers side, where the stock dash did not. You will need to mark that spot and cut out a notch, from the dash.....the stud will fit into the notch and just tighten down with a nut & washer:cool:

pmk: We installed an OER a/c dash pad in our '74 Z project. Like Scott says, you need to cut that notch for the stud, but we also needed to modify the dash pad quite extensively with a die grinder and a carbide burr tool. The pad did not fit over the lip of the metal part of the dash deep enough to even up the gap along the top. Once we made enough clearence for everything it went on pretty well.

I did the same thing on all the different mating surfaces of the dash pad. I got the pad to fit just fine with the steel portion of the dash, then removed the pad. I then assembled the dash pad with all the lower plastic dash pieces up on my work bench. I did this several times (with a little carving in between) before I was satisfied with the fit.

These dash pads are far from being a slam dunk install. If you keep that in mind, and do the necessary mods for a good fit, the install should turn out just fine.
