Ok well the time has come to put a new engine in my Dad's 1969 Z28. He wants a small block engine and atleast 600 hp. This is intended as a "street" car, that belongs on a race track. I was thinking of a 383 with AFR 210 heads with a large dual plane intake if possible. A holley 780 dp, and a MSD 6Al ignition. He wants 11:1 compression, because thats what he raced with. The car currently has a M22 trans and 3.73 gears in a 12 bolt rear. I am trying to persuade him to go with a hydro roller retrofit cam set. Now my questions are: What intake to use? Which cam to use? Will the trans hold up? Any recomendation on a rotating assembly? Are these the right heads? Sorry to bug you guys but I figured you all have tried all of the combo's imaginable.
