What kind of times are you running? What kind of gas milage do you get? Thanx
My car on the hwy gets 24-25 mpg with the a/c running. Has a LS-6 with cam, headers, 36lb injectors nothing fancy. Makes 404 RWHP and has run 7.68 on a drag radial with a 1.90 60 ft so it's not leaving real hard. TKO manual also.
I just bought a Magnacharger for it and I'm hopin for 525-550 to the wheels and maybe 6.70 or so
What was your MPH in the 1/8th......what cam do u have?
Really? No on has gone to the track with there cars?
It's fast, that's all I care about. However, I know I get 20-21mpg highway.
I did a 320 mile trip from St Louis back to the Chicago burbs.
I thought I was getting 10mpg city, but I don't know for sure yet.
I've often had older gas in the tank and ran it so that could be one of my issues.
I have to run a fresh tank through it after this Spring to recheck that.
GTO LS1/4L60e drivetrain.
I ran a 12.5 @111mph on a crap pass. Found out recently I only was using about 20% of my secondaries. It was a shake down pass too, so I shifted short and launched lightly. I did 22mpg, including the run, during a 200 mile round trip to the track and back.
My LS3 in the 72 camaro pulls every bit as hard as the 406 in the 68. the 68 runs 11.30. With tires the 72 will be close. Im just in the break-in stage, but I am expecting good #s. I promise I will let EVERYONE know when the #s come. With a .64 OD, 26" tire, FI and 3.42 gears i hope to get 20+ MPG on the big road.
Wow, 150 horse to the wheel gain?
I would be surprised of he isn't in the 525 rwhp range with that.
You'd be surprised how much horsepower most people "don't" have. My Buick GS455 convertible weighs 4250 lbs. I run typically in the 11.90's, with a best of 11.86 at 112 mph. On a chassis dyno, I made 376hp and 496 lb/ft of torque. All that through a th400 trans.
So a Camaro has about a 500 lb. or so advantage on all that.
