can someone tell me what these holes are for there located left side firewall on the cowl
I had some weird box mounted there on my 71, I thought it was an aftermarket alarm or something, but it couldn't have been that???
It was busted and hard to tell what it was. But my holes are the same as yours once I removed it
I could be wrong but I do not think that my '70 has any visible holes there.
No holes there on my 79. Plus that water channel runs behind that from the cowl vent area. No way to get to the back side of the holes really.
no holes, but definately has dimples in the same spot.
The holes or dimples are used to install the plastic vacume storage ball used on A/C cars. The dimples are only for location if needed to install it.
i not sure that right , as my 73 is a working ac car and doesn't have a vacuum accumulator per say ( its not a ball , it more like a diaphragm ) and its not mounted there , its by the poa valve . i cant really see the OPs picture that well , but I'm assuming its by the stamped "X" on the filler panel . i have the dimps but nothing is there
My van nuys built 1970 rally sport has the vacume storage tank mounted there. Now I can't answer for other years. Just a explanation for my comment.
the 73 had a diffrent hvac control on the inside of the car . we din't have a MAX A/C setting on the controls ( we had the setting , just achived in a diffrent manner ). so what you say may be corect for the 70 -72 cars . im looking at some A/C cars from 70 - 72 and they seem to NOT have the diaphram vacuum accumulator . so i guess of instead of changing the tooling they just said eff it . this is what 73 had ( in yellow ) controls were diffrent for 73 also . so sorry . we just didnt get it in 73 . do you have a picture of it ?
My 74 has the vacume ball on the evaporator case above the passenger valve cover rear.
