    Hey everyone,
New to the site, but not the hot rod world. Picked up this 1970 a little while ago from the original owners family. Lady bought it new, drove it for a while, than parked it in the garage where it sat for a long time. Her son took the car and started a father-daughter project, long story short is time got away from them and daughter was no longer interested. The father contacted the shop I work at looking to unload it and free up garage space. Boss knew I always wanted an early 2nd Gen, so he let me have first dibs at purchasing it. My brother and I went out that weekend and picked it up. DSC_9043.JPG DSC_9094.JPG DSC_9110.JPG DSC_9113.JPG

Right now the plan is to build a rotisserie or body dolly and blow the car back apart, fix the little bit of rust and build a resto-mod/ pro-touring type car.

I googled Airbenders and it looks like you're in Sterling/Dulles. If so and you need engine work done, talk to Simon Brown at Tysons Automotive Machine shop. He's right down the road from you. He's the owner, does his own work and is meticulous about it...a good guy! 703-471-1802

Sorry about such a delay, but we only use Simon, he actually lives in my parents neighborhood and has been doing all my and the shops machine work for over 10 years. He truly is a great guy and does do fantastic work.

Did you use SPI Epoxy Primer ($200/2Gal vs PPG$400) on your project.

I'm wanting to know how fine resto shops paint doors off car (hinges bolted to doors)
and then bolt painted doors onto painted body without any scratches ????
I'm think that drilling 1/4" alignment holes thru front side of hinge, where it joins
body wont show after front fender is bolted on ?????
