Right now my exhaust ends are a simple straight cut/"squared off" like in picture 1. I think I remember that they came stock like in picture 2 but I have seen quite a few cut like picture 3.

Anyone have any info or pictures for reference?

    Thanks!

I prefer the down turn style myself, just my thing. That's how I will do my exhaust.

Picture 2 is correct for late second gen Z28s. I am not sure about earlier cars or non-Zs.

agreed, picture 2 is for late second gen Z28s. Although I think the angle of the cut was a little sharper.

Walker makes some cool little chrome tips for 3rd gen Z28's that I saw on rockauto. I am going to try them on my Camaro or Cadillac next summer. I just thought I would throw another option out there. I seem to remember the originals were more like #3 but not so sharp.

I know someone who had a TA with the twin turn down type tips. They look good, but when he hit the gas the exhaust would blow dust up from the road and make it appear that the engine was smoking.

    #2 is "correct".
I had my new exhaust tips cut like #3 because I always thought the factory cut looked odd.

I think like the look of #2 and easy enough to change t0 # 3 if I decide I don't like it later......I think because I owned the car since it was original.

Anybody have any measurements from stock pipe so I can try and get the angle and height of the flat section correct. If not any suggestions on how to figure out the best angle etc?

    Thanks!
