    Hello

I have i dragrace camaro 71. And now I have a new motor in it. Expect to run 180-190 mph.

I dont have any rearspoiler at the moment....but I think I need one now with the new motor in the car.....

How about the big original rear (3 piece) spoiler.....does it generate good downforce?

    Thanks

    What tire are you running??
You might not need down force, but more likely you need to stop it from lifting.
I have always been told our cars start to wrap around at ~140 mph.
I run 160 with the small 1 piece stock spoiler on a 10" tire.
I put it on when I hit 140's and never had an issue even with a tiny tire.

Now if you are trying to do 190 on a small tire, then you will probably need some down force.
Personally I would want an adjustable set up so you don't have an anchor dragging back there that you don't need.
I can see the stock 3 piece being a pretty big drag, that you are stuck with, needed or not.
In my class there are a bunch of guys running 200+ with a small modern Pro-Stock set up.
The days of the giant wings are over, they are not needed anymore.
You want the minimum drag, the air moved away from the body, and the least amount of down force that is required.

I run either 33x14,5-15 or 32x14-15 tires. Car weight 2288 lbs on the startline with me in it, and a smallblock motor. But now im going to drive a bigblock in it.

What kind of engine combo is it?? 190 is frigging fast,
and takes decent power, even in a light car like yours.
With the added weight, it's probably going to take ~1300 HP plus to get in the 190 mph area??
I know my car is heavier then yours, but it took almost 1500 HP to get mine in the 190's.
I'm actually working on a 1600 hp+ motor now to try and get the car back over 200 mph if I can lose some weight also??

It's also not a factory spoiler, it is adjustable, and he's doin what Mrdragster was talkin about of goin fast on a small tire.

It's also been down the track without the spoiler on it

    Edit, it's a 118mm and been 7.6x 192+....

ps. I think Brant has a fan club!
