Hi all. I was just wondering how much power can someone get out of a hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam on a SBC. How many of you were able to get into the low 12's 11's or even 10's... I would really like to know.

Post your setups if you don't mind::bowtie:

    Which cam?

    Engine displacment?

    Compression ratio?

    Car wieght?

    Gear ratio?

    Carb size?

And anything else you you like to list. If you run a solid flat tappet you can post you setup too also. Thanks guys....

Well I went 12.42 with a voodoo 268. This is in a streetcar no race trim.Switched to a bigger hydro roller and went 11.66 with the same setup. If you don't want to go roller why not a solid FT?

Nice...I'm just curious to see other people's acomplishments.
Thought it would be cool to see... I'm thinking of swapping the HYD. for a Solid Flat Tappet in the 355 so i can use the same valve train.
The roller cam i will use in the 406 instead.
For some reason i really feel like trying to see if i can break into the 11's with the comp cams 294H. I did it before with my other camaro 10 years ago with a crane ENERGIZER 302H and 11:5:1's. (car went 11.94)

Hydraulic flat-tappet....quickest I went was 12.15/110.5 on drag radials in my '77 Z-28. 400 small block, Vortec heads ported by me, Crane 234/244, 2800 stall, 4.10 gears. Car weight with me in it and 1/2 tank fuel was 3750 lbs. Launch was off-idle and it was in mid-July, very hot temps.
