This is a picture of Dynatech headers (part #115-909400) on my LS-3, and the orange bungee represents where the steering shaft would have to go from the steering column to the steering rack input shaft. The bungee is stretched over the #3 primary tube, i.e. the #3 tube is in the way. This is a new Chris Alston subframe, but I had the same problem with my Martz frame. I COULD fabricate something and run an intermediate u-joint as I did then, but I would prefer to avoid that if there are headers that will fit without modification. Anyone have any suggestions for headers?

Thanks. I would like to go with long tube if I can.

By looking at pictures, it looks as if Hooker, Doug's, and the newer version of Dynatech might work, but just looking for confirmation.

So it looks like you have to install the steering shaft after the engine and headers are in place?

Thanks for the photo. I didn't understand at first as I didn't realize that DSE even made headers. They are pricey but they look nice.

    ^^ correct on the install.

They are expensive but they are stainless , all the tubes are the same length and they have v-band clamp end. Not to mention the DSE mark-up.
