Nice-looking Z for sale over on bring a trailer. Some missing details under the hood, but it all looks pretty original. But I was wondering about the TT rivets, those don't appear to be factory, do they? I also could not find the VIN number on the build sheet to compare it to the car VIN number. Can anybody with better eyesight confirm that they match?

The tag is an LA tag, so there's not much that would be gained by altering it, unless the color was changed, or the build date didn't match the VIN.

Could either of you find the VIN number on the build sheet that matches the car? There are almost two complete build sheets and I couldn't find a legible Vin to match up to the engine stamp.

I couldn’t tell from the pictures provided. It just doesn't show it clear enough.
I can maybe make out the “5316” of 531609.

Yeah, that's exactly my question. I can't tie out the cars VIN number to the build sheet, and add the fact that the TT has been off the car, it all makes me wonder. I guess the next step would be to check the hidden VIN number if someone was really interested.

The TT rivets are wrong, but there are few things wrong with that car probably simply because it was restored without all the fine details. That dash pad should be blue...the door pulls should be vinyl fabric covered....the 70 California cars can easily be cloned to be what ever. Only paperwork proves the originality. Hell a car with correct rivets can be as fake as a car with wrong rivets.
