    Hey all.
Just got my replacement grill and have sold my original that needed repair.
Forgot to make a note or do pics. grill SS.jpg grill 1.jpg
Cant locate the detail info and I have seen them done two ways.
Can someone set me straight as to the correct placement?
    Thanks!

Looking at the back side of this SS emblem you can see a locator slot. I thought it was on the top side of the horizontal bar. The manual seems to show the two pins going through the horizontal grill on the bottom side 4 rectangles showing. emblem rear veiw.jpg
Here is a better pic of where I thought it should end up.

Would have been easier to tell on the car with the bumper in place.

That looks about right but it's a lot easier to tell when the bumper is on. The emblem is NOT centered like you would think. It's actually down 1 slot, closer to the bumper.

Not the best pic but this should help

NO, it's actually a chrome metal trim piece that goes around the outside edge. It's made of pot metal like other trim pieces so they would get corrosion pits pretty easily.

Scott - I think he means the plastic edges of the grille itself.

Hogg - only the RS gilles were black with silver/argent edges...and all RS grilles were this way including SS and Z28. The full-bumper grille was all argent unless SS or Z28, in which case it was all black. All full-bumper grilles had the chrome potmetal surround as noted by Scott. The photos of his grille is spot-on.

Mine will not tighten down. It has about an inch of play.
Maybe I have the wrong thickness of Grille? Is that possible?
