'70 Factory U-Joint?

    Here's a question ....

    What year did the factory start using the epoxy to hold in the U-joint caps? Also, was the epoxy used across the board or did some models or driveline configurations use clips?

    Just curious?

    I had a late build 1972 olds cutlass remember it had the epoxy u joints in it.

    I've seen more Pontiacs done that way (with the plastic/epoxy retainer)- my '69 GTO for one, and two '69 Firebirds. A friend has seen a number of Pontiacs from the late '60s done that way (I consulted with him when I ran into my first one)

    I don't think 12 bolts ever had plastic injected to hold the bearing caps. The caps need grooves to make it work.
