70 Z Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner Day Two Modification

Has anybody previously seen this modification to the stock Z air cleaner? I have seen one other air cleaner that was modified the same way, but that's it. The quality and the accuracy of the holes suggests that it was stamped- not drilled-which could have been done professionally, but that is only a guess on my part. Anybody have any clue? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Admin-I don't know if this is in the right sub forum, so if it should be somewhere else, please move it.

Punched or drilled, professional or shade tree, someone just made a lot of holes in a good air cleaner housing.

Wow, that's.... more on the "functional" end of the spectrum than it is on the "beautiful" end, isn't it?

Back in the day people used to do that all the time.

We used to just flip the lid upside down.

It would be easier to buy a new Moroso air cleaner.

Get yourself an open element air cleaner and be done with it. That looks sketchy and redneck.
