Here’s a question: I know I should have a jacking instruction on underside of trunk lid. Most cars I have seen have posi decal on pass side and jacking instructions on drivers side. My posi decal on drivers side and has been there a while as it was masked off last paint job. I don’t know if it’s original. Any way to tell?

Is there any rule of thumb? Can I just add a jack instruction to pass side?

Feel free to post pics of known original trunk lid decals.

Ok I’m done with trunk for now. Used rust inhibitor on tire iron which had about 60% of its original paint. Blackens and preserves metal.

Just need to do something with that horrible wire connector on trunk light.

Moving under hood and going to post questions in original drivetrain section.

Please check out those threads. I have questions! :)

The original Posi decal was made from paper and applied with black goo on the line and was on the pass side. It is avail as a repop. The shiny plastic posi decal is incorrect. BTW, not all 70 Z28's were installed with the rubber spoiler bumper that usually dented the qtr panel. Mine didn't and it was shipped to Canada if that made a diff. Maybe it was an item added after May since my Z is a May build date.

Gorgeous trunk. Thanks for info. I ordered them through Classic Industries.

What adhesive do you use to glue posi warning?

What’s the deal with the GM mark of excellence decals on doors?

And who sells the blue decal with the VIN ? Does it go on drivers door?

You know I wasn’t done until I eliminated that hideous blue wire connector on trunk light wire. :) trunk is closed for first time in 10 days. 71368A1F-0A70-4AFD-868D-1BEF65B09EBC.jpeg

ECS sells a good blue vin label. They will put your car's numbers on the label.
I believe the 70 Camaro did not get a "Mark of Excellence" label. You will need a tire label for the drivers door.

Is this a picture of your trunk decal?

BTW, it should say “limited slip differential” for 1970 and not “high traction differential”.
