advantages of coilovers?

    are they mainly for drag racing? what are the advantages?

    for street i would want the traditional spring and shock though right?

    please help, i cant keep my global west control arms in the cart anymore, the send button is calling my name!

    What's the goal with your car ... handling or straight-line?

    Coilovers will help reduce weight and allow a bit more room for larger wheels and tires. You can adjust ride height plus replace springs. They're pretty neat.

    I still run the conventional front control arm/coil spring and rear leaf spring on my '73 and do well with it. Eventually, I'll drink the Kool-Aid and change over ...

    They really are! They make regular coil springs seem rather primitive when it comes to adjusting ride height. Some people install, remove, cut install, remove, cut, install several times to get the desired ride height.

    Had I known more about coil overs, I might have splurged.
