I am into a similar repair with my 1980 Z at the moment. My switch tests ok, but I can't seem to locate a replacement park switch for the motor anywhere around here, (Ontario, Canada). All the reman motors come minus the park switch assy. GM #4961604 which is obsolete. What problem are you having that led you to the dash switch diagnosis ?

I believe the one you have pictured is for an 81 model.

If I'm not mistaken.... The 80 switch has "Wash Wipe" printed on it instead of the picture.

Agreed, I just took a peek at mine and it does say "Wash Wipe"
    on the top.

You might check these guys out. They still list the park switch assy 4961604. This page doesn't list it as out of stock. Maybe they still have a few left.

I carefully cleaned my OE wiper motor up and reassembled, paying careful attention to the copper coloured ground strap. For fun I reinstalled it and it now works 100 %. Hi/Low/pulse and most importantly it parks correctly when switched to the Off position. "I am so happy I could just poo" as they say, really wanted to keep original motor on the car.

I thought the 81 had a black knob?

After doing some internet searching, I'm confused. I have the one listed for 1981 in my 1980 Camaro. Either way I'm interested in buying either year if anybody has one in nice condition. Thanks everyone
