Jake is only going to spray the basecoat, I will be doing the clear. Although I will let him shoot some of the clear, like on the back of the bed.

We had to stop for the night after spraying just the basecoat. Will pickup and finish with the clear tomorrow morning. The reason for this is that my respirator cartridges are getting clogged so I will pick up some new ones for us tomorrow.
We have a 24 hour window between shooting the base and clear.

It came out real nice, very little dirt, no dry spots and only a couple of small runs.
So today Jake learned how to cut fresh clear coat. We started with 1000, followed by 1500, and then, 2000 using 3m rubber sanding blocks.
We will follow up tomorrow with 3000 trizact on a DA with an interface pad and then buff it all out.
Here is the work so far, will post pictures of the final job hopefully tomorrow:

I agree. I had a red 87 S15 and really liked that color.

Wow! That's gonna look great! It looks so much better with the longer box! Nice work! I like my S-10's too. Here's pics of a couple of mine.

Before we started on this truck we actually looked at an 87. our thoughts at the time was to drop this 6.0l that I have in it. Momma didn't like that idea though. She still remembers the 86 I had back in the day that I had dropped a 350 in.
You couldn't do anything without spinning the tires in that thing.
