I have always run an Alternator.

I see many have generators from HF to an Onan etc.

+1, I get a lot of grief running a alternator but I do not have to charge the car between rounds.

I also run an alternator but I do carry a battery charger and a generator just in case. It's a simple 2250 watt Coleman generator and a full size battery charger, on the 50 amp setting it can charge a battery pretty quickly.

I did too. A Moroso electric pump. I got creative with stock parts.
I used the stock 71 spacer from the ALT to the pass head. and a 67 style top adjuster to the ALT from the empty bolt hole on the top of a long WP.
The belt ran under the elec wp gilmer pulley

I also run an electric water pump but I got creative and made my own alternator mount.
