Cheapest way to convert 4 speed 2nd gen car to T-56

    I have a fairly stout cam and tall tires and I still use 6th all the time. And I know if I had gone with a 5spd I would be kicking myself every time I got on the highway.

    I also "drive it like I stole it" and have not had any trans problems yet with an old, used, 100% stock T56. And that includes 4500rpm clutch dumps with drag radials and traction bars...

    417hp/431tq according to desktop dyno. 4.10 gears. The rear end broke but the T56 was fine.

    Mine desktop dyno'd at about 420 hp / 450 ft*lbs as well.

    I fully concede that some of my "lazy car" in 5th at low RPM's is exasperated by a lean off-idle transition. I'm in the process of fattening up the transition to see if I can tune out this lazy spot.

    I sold it when I moved from Alaska. Someone else now gets to enjoy it 3 months out of the year..;)
