Anyone know of any good cold air intake systems for a retrofit LS1 in a 78 Camaro??
Obviously there aren't any made SPECIFICALLY for this application, but I'm hoping someone
found one that works well in our cars.

I have to find a nice K+N filter setup and I would rather get a good setup the first time if I can.

Aces, what type of hood do you have on your car? Where are you on your install? Any progress pics available?

Hood - 2" steel cowl hood.

My Install is waiting on Speartech still to finish my harness + ECU.
Once I get that back, I'm hoping to have ALL of the other components delivered already as that is what I'm doing now......ordering. I just loaned out $3800 and just got $3,000 back yesterday so I'm gettin busy.

I have $3,000 left for parts. I'm ordering them all in one big schbang for the mechanic. I have a list, right now I'm looking at the fuel system possibilities and the air filter possibilities, the rest is already figured out.

Thanks, to be perfectly honest, I have that huge circle in my cowl hood for a round filter to suck air from. I would really like to make use of that somehow and have some custom job done for it. Not sure how it would look with the hood open though...might look retarded.

True but let's get past that....

What you need is something like an air intake assembly from an SS (4th gen), here are some pics of my 94 Z/28 after I put on an SS hood and ram air induction (somehow I never got the "25-30 gut wrenching horsepower" as advertised but at least it looked good.

    Here's the link.
