I, like PF, always worry about door dings so I usually park in 'safe' zones. These look good on your car A-B, and will be good protection. I don't think my Z came out of the factory with these on the car, but maybe was an option in 1978:

    B84-Moldings, body side
    B93- Moldings, door edge

Naw, TFF. I understand it was a dealer installed option.
And I doubt that ANY horsepower enthusiast would have opted for "DOOR BUMPERS"! It would just be an option that us dumpy Camaros would have,...for everyday protection! This car was not built to be a sports car,...
A number of cars had this option back then,...of all makes/types, so it was common. Cars were getting big, parking spots were becoming smaller. Doors banged doors,...good intervention.
And BTW, it's FORTY,....1976! This year. It's a good car.

Keep in mind that all the chrome pieces are 1976 and came with the car when it was purchased. But changing out the rubber bumper strips is ridiculously easy! They just pull out, and the new rubber is set in the chrome's groove by hand. This is "slate metallic, high profile".

    And then it was 98.2 F and 100 F!
It finally cooled to a high of 89 for today.
Finished the wet-sanding today in the overcast!
