I grow 'em fast and big around here, TFF!
This is my Ribes aureum (Western US, typically):

It's about 3.5' tall and 2.5' wide right now. Quite healthy,...
New pasture trees look just great after this wet,...perfect timing to re-moisten any exposed surface soil in our pastures.
Nice weather forecast for the next several days! Enjoy!
    Todd.

Wow! I'm beat, and I've gotta stop,...at least for this year. I just finished transplanting 14 8 - 10" elm seedlings into the pastures, and they'll need hand watering in late summer/fall! Yipes! Thankfully, I'll be hauling water with the ATV cart and my '56 John Deere.
Fiat has so much more power with the bigger Weber that it broke the driveshaft center support bearing! Back on the road soon with a completely rebuilt driveshaft,...
    And it's Camaro time again!

The 42 is a million bucks richer, congrats to Kyle Larson and his team.

Wish I'd seen the racing, but we've been hiking Round Mountain trail with friends and marathon planting this weekend!
Immediately after I began 14 new plantings (elm 'weedlings' for shade), my wife, Terry, shopped the county conservation district 'two for one', end-of-the-year-sale, and came home with the two potted hackberries that I'd requested, and a pair of nice, bushy Rocky Mountain Junipers, like I'd hoped for.
With two big holes prepared, I began to open up the bare-root evergreen, and found that I had a bundle of 25 junipers in my hands! So, instead of two junipers, we ended up with two bundles of 25!
    HOT DAMN, AND REPLAN!
Luckily, I have a truckload of chipped wood and a pretty good amount of years-aged horse manure! Planted nine, so far,...good time of the year to dig.
Forecast to be WET for the next day, or so! Spring!

Two bushy junipers turned into 50, lol and nice! But more digging will be necessary. Yep, Arbor Day type weather all week A-B. Good Luck

Dad got a shipment of spruce trees and lilacs last week, but hurt his shoulder before he got them planted.
So I spent Saturday digging holes and planting trees. Hard work, but very satisfying to see them in the ground. The bag said "Plant Immediately!!" but they had to wait a few days. Sure hope they do well.
10 spruce and 2 lilacs, and transplanted a yucca that was growing where we put one of the trees. 13 holes was a lot of work, I'm sure glad that job didn't turn into 50!
