I cannot for the life of me get the temp sensor not to peg out my gauge. I have tried three different sensors. Is there a trick?

If the gauge and wiring are working correctly, the only trick is to get the right sensor and connect it. The gauge uses a different sensor than the idiot lights use so make sure you inform the parts guy of that.
The sensor for gauges is a variable resistor. The sensor for lights is an on-off switch.

Contact Daniel at guagemarks. He calibrated one for me and it's dead on to my mechanical gauge.

I had a sensor read whacko on me a few times. Check the wire going from the sensor to the gauge. Make sure it's not just laying on the intake, heads, or anything else really hot. You could get false readings on the high end.
