Does anybody know where I could find a deep groove smog pump pulley? All the aftermarket places advertise "deep groove" pulleys, but they are actually standard depth pulleys.

As Mark COPO posted. Ebay will probably be your best place. Get ready to pay $750 to $1000 dollars for one. Also reproduction 458 DA deep groove pulleys are deep groove. I've used them before. There have very minor physical differences. One is that originals have a kidney shaped pattern the numbers are stamped on. Also the very outer edge of the belt grove appears a little wider. Other wise for $100 dollars a bargain to buy.

I bought an aftermarket one from Classic Industries... not a deep groove even though it says it is. SS396, Camaro Central, The Parts Place, all sell the same one and none of them are actual “deep groove” pulleys... too narrow, standard depth.

I've got a repop. What is the width on the originals? On the repop, with a belt in the groove from the outer edge of the pulley to the top of the flat surface of the belt it is 0.200 inches. Basically, the top of the belt sits down in the pulley 0.20 inches. The pictures I see of standard pulleys they look like the belt is basically even with the outer edge of the pulley. Also, COPO has your's been re-painted? The re-pops are very glossy black. The biggest negative I have heard about the repops (besides the missing hot dog stamp) is that they may wobble. I took mine and spun it on a roto-mag on a surface grinder and re-surfaced the area where it bolts to the pump.
