Are there any 2005 or 2006 Jeep Liberty diesel owners here? What has been your ownership experience? What is your fuel economy with the diesel engine?

Not an owner, but friend/acquaintance of a couple Liberty owners. RUN. That is all.

The diesel versions are a different animal than the regular one. I've seen them with fairly high miles going for $10,000. Now, the bodies aren't that great. A guy at work has to replace the window regulators every year or so. Back windows have been known to explode just sitting there. Mechanically they are great.

    Diesel

I like the way they look and I have been reading different articles about the diesel version on the Internet but I wanted to hear from owners to find out how they are holding up long term. I don't want to buy a problem vehicle.

I am only interested in a diesel version of the Liberty.

The Jeep Liberty or really any Jeep product are absolute JUNK! I really don't even know how they are still in business. OR why people buy them!
The only Jeep I would consider is an SRT8.

No experience with Diesel liberty but a buddy of mine had a regular liberty of that vintage and it was constant problems for them. Most weren't drive train related just little nickel and dime crap mostly electrical giving the problems constantly.
