    Hi Guys,

I'm Niels 25 years old and i live in the Netherlands.
Sorry if my english isn't the best it's not my head langue.

I've been insprired by american vehicles for almost my whole live,
in the past i had several camaro's (most of them for the trade)

    a true 78 Z28 350 (yellow)
    1979 305 (purple)
    1978 305 (orange t-tops)
    1978 305 (zilver)

    1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg 6.jpg 7.jpg 8.jpg 9.jpg 10.jpg

At first the plan was building the orange t-tops but i really wanted a 70-73 camaro
so i started looking for one.

Unfortunaly the last few years the prices are going skyhigh here for that model.
and the most of them are also rotten, or need alot of work.

Then i found mine, an ORIGINAL dutch 1973 camaro LT with it's first registration in the Netherlands in 1973 so that's pretty rare.
I bought the car already as an project from a guy who want's to drift with it.
it did not had an interior, and i don't want an engine because i directly want something faster.

the car has an 10 bolt rear axle with disk brakes and LSD

below here some pictures how i bought it.

You can see the extremely bad welds on the quarters they were also welded overlapped.
i unfortunaly don't have the old pictures from the rear. but he put an new rear panel in it.
it was also dramatic. but overall the body is in good shape.

the floors are really good, after some grinding both doors to, ( one door has an small patch but it's good )
the firewall is nice and also unwelded. unfortunaly the underbody coating has to go because i really want a rust free camaro and don't want to find some nasty surprises later.

an inner tail panel and the head tailpanel

now i have some pictures to show the bright side of the car that it's a good base.
my welding and fab skills are good. i also have enough experience to bring this to a good end.
i have my own carshop for used cars sale & maintenance and some custom work.
i also build some cars for customers.

this build i'm gonna do at home at my tiny garage 6,7 x 3,3 meter because is a hobby project.
my luck is that i have a storage space above my garage, and it's central heated, in the winter there is comfortable working possible

    35.jpg 36.jpg 37.jpg 38.jpg 39.jpg 40.jpg 41.jpg 42.jpg 43.jpeg 44.jpg

everything is going to baresteel and in epoxyprimer. cowlpanel looks good so far. all of the front end is new bushes and balljoints allready.
but i consider, of doing an upgrade to performance stuff and coilovers. i also want the firewall and the subframe cleaned and painted in car color.

as you can see i allready did make a start with moving the wiper motor under the fender for a nice clean look, i did that about a year ago.
Within now and a couple of weeks i'm going to get the camaro back home.
the garage is now also nice with an epoxy floor.

I didn't have decided for an color or an engine yet, i think it has to be an fast small block Chevy probably with EFI.
I'm starting first with all the bodywork. then send the car for paint and do the interior. as last i will do the engine and drivetrain, now it also has an columshifter but i wanna have an floorshifter.

also have a dream to build the rear, IRS or 4 link. maybe i'f i can find parts for a reasonable price.

for suggestions or some critic i'm always open.

    with kind regards, Niels

I picked Blue with Black first choice. I like Silver and Black Second. Good luck with your car. You are a lucky Duck to have so many Camaro's. Do you Have Pics of the Bug Build?
