ECM location

    wont fit where I wanted to put it. How sensitive to heat? Think it would. Be ok here?

    Those things are pretty tough today, might actually be ok, but I don't like the location that close to the header pipe at all. Inner fender with a shield would be much better I suspect. Inside the car maybe near the same location as shown would be ideal, probably not possible though.

    Man there just isn't anywhere with a flat spot to mount on the inside

    If you put a heat shield in place to block the radiant heat, it should be okay there.

    What if you mounted it in the same spot but higher? Who says it has to be a flat spot? Just put a spacer where needed...

    Mine has been in that location for the past 7 years/11,000 miles. I'm in upstate NY so no where near as warm as Vegas....but I have not had any issues. I thought about possibly relocating battery and moving PCM up front.

    I saw someone here put an aftermarket MSD box in the cowl section just above where you show it now. Would get air for sure but will rain hurt it?
