Been busy working on my buddies farm and some odd and ends stuff my friends own. Finally got caught up on the Yamaha XS1100. Got the original carbs rebuilt and reinstalled and rode the bike for the first time after tweaking a few things and cleaning everything up. I dont know what the guy did to the motor buts its a high winding beast! Pulls like a 2 stroke anywhere above 2K RPM all the way to dline, just frickin screams. So I tore it all back down, took the tins to the painter and started polishing things up 20180423_121810.JPG 20180604_151154.jpg 20180606_160710.jpg 20180608_111346.jpg 20180604_151154.jpg 20180423_121858.JPG 20180423_121928.JPG

Nice looking. I like that era of bikes.
Got a 93 Kaw Vulcan V-twin in the garage I need to do something with.
Not the same as your XS more of a cruiser.
Love the KZs and the CBs from that era (late 70s-mid 80s).

I have always had a thing for the 70's and 80's import bikes. Way back in my youth I had a 1975 Honda CB750 K5, it was raked, stretched, bored over to 1000cc and was stupid quick. I shamed a lot of crotch rockets in the mid to late 80's on that old bike. Wish I had better pics of it but this is the only one I can find, the cylinder head is off since you basically has to put a new head gasket on it almost every year cause the bore was so big.

Turned out pretty good, lots of pearl and shifting metallic in the paint
