How much does it typically cost to get a set of 79 z28 gauges restored? Its in the plans later on. Just wanted to get an idea. Thanks Daniel. -Matt

    Matt,
A complete restoration for 70-78 Camaro is typically $550. There is a $60 upcharge (for NOS pointers) for 79-81 Camaro. If there are any major repairs that need to be done to the speeodometer or tach there may be addittional charges. Once you get ready for your gauge restoration, I can test all of the gauges to give you an exact quote. Just let me know when you're ready!
    Thanks!
    Daniel

Great! Just let me know when you're ready. I'll be more than happy to help.
Get in touch with me when you're getting close. Because of the current workload, turn around time is 4-6 weeks. You may want to send in the gauges a few weeks before you actually need them. ;)
    Thanks again!

My son and I have undertaken a project car, a 1981 camaro z28. The gauges weren't working, so we took out the entire instrument panel. The needles are broken, so I was think of just getting a new instrument panel along with a new circuit board. The shifter is between the seats on the floor, so need the one without this on the dash. Any idea on approximate cost to replace these parts?

Thanks for contacting me. Your gauges will need to be inspected and tested beofre giving you an accurate quote. Costs can vary widely depending on the amount of work to be done. Please feel free to give me a call and I will be glad to give you an estimated price. I'll just need to ask a few questions.
    Thank you!

Just had my electrical checked and the guy said it is good. Just need the gauges. I can take a picture of the dash if that would help. The guy said it is easy to hook up once I have it. What do you need from me to do a quote?

Assuming all the gauges were tested and are accurate (including speedometer and tachometer), a complete restoration and calibration of the gauges for 79-81 Camaro will cost approx. $650 ( with a new lens, and NOS pointers). This price does not include gauge repair. Speedometer and tach repair/calibrations are a bit involved. Again, I will retest the gauges once they reach my shop, then I can give you an absolute quote. Sometimes gauges will appear to function properly, but are inaccurate. Just let me know how you would like to proceed.
    Thank you!
    Daniel
