    That's cool, I have access to the Tech II. I will have to look into this further before deciding which way to go.

    You would also be putting a stock configuration program in at the same time as the VIN, you cant just program the vin separately to the PCM. After that i dont know about the aftermarket programming available to them, and you would also need a VIN to use.

    As far as I have found, the GMPP controllers are locked. The procedure of using a tech II and putting in a stock tune by the VIN is for a new GM factory controller (i.e. one for a vette, Fbody, truck, etc). The GMPP controllers are sold with intentions of them being used with the crate engine offerings and I was told they are locked...
