Any tips or suggestions. Haven't really raced this big block set up at all.

Car weights 3950 with me in it(I will get it down to an even 3900 come race day).

Engine: 496 making about 650 horse

    Jegs 290 heads
Edelbrock proflox 3 xt intake/fuel injection--1100cfm throttle body(picked up a few ponies based on the butt dyno from my victor jr which had previously picked up over an rpm air gap).
    250/256 @ .050 with .605/.620 lift (.15/.18 setting for lash right now)
heddman headers 2" primary with 3" x pipe exhaust to bullets dumped before the axle.
    Th400 3800 stall
3.73 in the back and some 275/60-15s for tires.

I have cal trac bars--probably wont be able to get shocks for this outting but at some point will get a set of calvert shocks. Cal trac bars are set to be parallel with the ground.
Plan on using MT drag radials or ET pros(What do you guys recommend?)

Did not look clear as to how your diff was set up have seen these go bad numerous times. From the sounds of it you will be good to go.

Get'cha a fresh set of plugs Put them in before you head to the staging lanes and shut her off when when you go through the traps. Get a tow back to the pit or coast off to the side of the return road and check them. Gotta know what the Big Boy under the hood is do'n.

Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down! 3gears_zpsdc824ee0.gif

Didn't think of plugs, but Ill grab another set and clean the ones I have before I head up. With fuel injection I can smell it running well(like gun powder that went off)! Hope for mid 12s

Tires go with 295-55 or 275/60's depending on your wheel backspace..................
TH400 don't even think about popping it in neutral after the stripe!!, plus your running FI your computer is the tuning guide although plug reading is a plus................
Your mph will indicate what kind of power the car makes and I predict on a good pass should dip into the 11's.

    Most important have fun :bowtie:

And read this from a few reputable transmission builders, it is a must...

This! Otherwise your planetaries might explode from overrevving.

Also ALWAYS start your burn out in 2nd gear and finnish in 3rd.

    Good luck & race safe.

For the record, I only do high gear burnouts, and I have 17" monsters to break loose!!!!

This combo with 650 hourse should get down to low 11's.

I have 540hp at crank, 5spd and my best pass was 12.2 but blew 2nd gear so I should be high 11. My mph was 112.
