Researching grooved front brake rotors for 74 camaros. My 08A camaro does not have a grooved rotor. Anyone else have original brake rotors.

I think they may have been changed late 74 somewhere. Mine are not grooved. Also original and dated for my car.

The groove was only a wear indicator. I just chunked my tired rotors in the trash. The new ones I put on were not grooved.

I know this is an old thread. My 74 Z28 had the grooved rotors on it and it was builted in September 1973. I am not sure when they changed to non grooved rotors.

I'm replacing my original grooved rotors on my 70 in the spring due to pedal pulse from heat. I have 149,000 mi out of them from using soft pads. For many yrs I was using asbestos pads.
I was thinking of slotted or drilled or both rotors but read that it isn't a great idea cause they are prone to warping.
