I have a 76/77 firebird steering column in a 73 Camaro, I like the high beam switch at the column. I'm trying to figure out how to make them activate/flash when headlights are off. Is there a way to trigger a relay to do this? Only problem is the columns aren't like modern cars that have a spring action switch, for momentary on off.

76-77 Firebirds had the dimmer switch on the floor just like Camaros.

If your dimmer is on the column, it probably came from a later car.
Knowing what vehicle the column came from would help to figure out how to make your idea work.

apparently it's from a 78 to 81. I pulled from a formula at pick a part a few years back.
