help,1970 rear brakes will not bleed

    reading my hayes manual and there saying some pin in the end of the metering valve must be held in before rear brakes will bleed, can any help ive wasted so much time thanks scott

    I bled the rear brakes on my 70 and never needed to press on any pin on the metering valve. I would open up the line at the rear wheel cylinder and see if fluid drips out. If not, you have a blockage somewhere in the system.
    If you need to press the button on the metering valve, it is under the rubber cover shown here on the left side of the picture.

    I always use a wedged piece of wood to hold the button in while bleeding. When I bled my brakes the last time, I first gravity drained them while keeping the master topped up.
