Holley 1150 Dominator

    Last weekend I spied a killer deal on a 2 circuit 1150 Dominator. It's in great shape and has the replaceable air bleeds and all the good stuff. It's pretty big for what I have and I do have a 750 Dominator that I was going to change over to a 1050 by just using the smaller booster. My thinking is that if I use the 750 boosters in the 1150 it might be right around 900 cfm. I know this stuff is kind of stupid to do but I like trying stuff to just see if it works, like my modified 1850 600VS that ran mid 11's. That one really surprised me. Anyone else have any luck using a Dominator on their car or is this something I should just hang on the my wall of cool parts?

    I myself am looking at a 1050 Dominator for my new 406

    Dominator used for years, however engine was either 468 or 498 ci and thru open exhaust at the drag strip only. Far too much carb for most SB guys especially if trying to drive on street. Yes it can be done but it is not really practical or simple to do. Hang it on the wall or trade it for other stuff you can use.

    Sounds like it might be a wall item. I will do the t-slot restriction as I can see the slots even with the blades closed, I know I can take out the screw on the bottom and just run it as a 2bbl done that in the past with big Holley's. If it were a 3 circuit I would have never touched it, those things suck to tune. May have to shine it up first before I hang the thing up.

    I know you think a little bit like I do and if it is a killer deal I bet you scoop it up ,, You need it just because the motor head tweaker in you wants to try to make it work.

    Probably why I keep buying carbs and other things when I have 50+ carbs now.

    Amazing how Ford was able to make TWO Dominators work on the 1970 Boss 302 Trans Am cars!

    The IR mainfolds certainly helped.

    That's a nice looking dominator. Have you ported that Victor intake? really helps as those runners at the top under the carb mounting pad plenum area really needs to be worked over.
