Hey all, so I have a ZZ3 crate in my 70 SS car backed up by a recently rebuilt and strengthened T56.

I took the tranny out and sent it out to be rebuilt.
I took advantage of the down time and installed a Dakota digital VHx dash.

The car was runnin ok when I deadlined it eight weeks ago.

Upon firing it two weeks ago, I noticed fuel coming out the choke adjustment screws and the sight glass, carb is about eight years old (05 ish) so I installed a renew kit.

So now, it's running way too rich and dumping fuel into #8.

Changed the secondary float to a brass one thinking I might have sank the stocker (the front is brass stock)
Changed the needle and seat twice.

Could I have a choke issue?

The sight glass in the secondary is 1/3 to 1/2 with fuel which I know is to much, but the float adj is maxed, but it still shouldn't let that much fuel by....

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanx, mike

Who did the rebuild and what was replaced? Sound to me like there's a flooding issue on the back side. Could be trash in the needle/seat or it's just wore out. I have a old 3310 that I've modified quite extensively but I use neoprene floats. One of mine did sop up a bunch of gas last year, but when I pulled it out, I could tell immediately what's going on. Not a bunch of guesswork there.

Whats your fuel pressure? You may be overloading the needle and seat

here is one new, never run, out of the box. surfaces are not flat, way too rich out of the box, it gets about 6 hrs of work to make it right.

i did the rebuild, just replaced the gaskets, and needles and seats (twice). Fuel pressure is a stock Holley mechanical pump, and all worked fine before. I only changed seals....s
Could i have a choke issue?
    no leaks.
cant get the secondary float all the way up, maxed out on the adjustment, but only at the 1/3 up, not all the way up. but fuel is getting past it.
try a third needle and seat?

Grease the o-ring on the new needle seat assembly to make sure it won't tear when assembling it in the carb.
