How do you center steering wheel on 70 z28?

    One thing I would verify is that with your steering wheel in whatever position that allows it to go straight down the road, that the pitman arm is parallel to the centerline of the car.

    Doesn't the pitman have one spline that is larger than the rest?

    No, it should be able to go on in four different positions. Generally it will cause you to have more turns in one direction and not "feel" right when going straight, not an offset wheel as I implied above. I think Terry is more on point with the intermediate shaft issue.

    When everything else is dialed in shouldn't he ensure that the indexing marks on the steering wheel and steering shaft line up?
